Spinel is gem that comes in a great range of colors. Most people are familiar with the Ruby Spinels, but a large percentage of Spinels out there are not red. This is a beautiful mauve-purple Spinel. It actually does a color shift depending upon the light under which it's viewed. It's a bit more blue in sunlight and more purple in indoor lighting. It is an attractive gem with a color that is less common in Spinel than most other shades. The gem is virtually eye and has a lovely "Round Brilliant" cut. This is a fine quality Spinel with lovely color. The high retail price on this gem is $235.00 retail.
