SPECIAL AUCTION: SELECT SPECIMENS FROM THE GENE MEIERAN COLLECTION - ENDS SATURDAY JUNE 25, 2022

We are truly honored to be able to present at auction, a suite of beautiful and important specimens from the long-held collection of Dr. Eugene Meieran (Meieranite), built up over 60 years of dedicated collecting. Gene was there when Pakistan opened, and he caught the heyday of Brazil - the two locations most featured in this current auction set. Gene was intimately involved in financing discoveries in both countries through his dealer friends, as well as in such ventures as the Sweet Home Mine in Colorado and the tourmaline project in Okorusu, Namibia, and many other notable other finds, in exchange for a selection of the first production at these mines. He has spent countless hours making displays and labels for the education and inspiration of others. He has taught dealers (including myself) and collectors both how to approach and learn and master this hobby. He is solely responsible, in my opinion, for the initial concept and drive to produce the educational book American Mineral Treasures and later, through his efforts, for the success and quality of the presentation of American Mineral Treasures exhibit cases in person at Tucson in 2008 (as documented in MR from April-May of that year).

Gene has allowed us to select, together, a cross-section through his collection that includes famous and iconic specimens as well as things that might be considered specialist pieces, in all sizes and price ranges, to show the verticality and enjoyment of this hobby at all levels. We are truly proud to offer this first auction installment. Stay tuned for PART 2, live from the Denver Show on September 22.
