Item Description

Tetrahedrite is one of those accessory minerals that is always good when in combination with other minerals, but it is highly-desired when found as the main mineral on a specimen. The modified, and slightly irregular, crystals here reach an impressive 2.3 cm in size, and the matte-black luster gives the crystals a distinct and weighty look. There is even some blue iridescence to the luster. The matrix is solid Tetrahedrite, with ultra-fine, iridescent Chalcopyrite mixed throughout. Shockingly, there are zero photos of Tetrahedrite from Tsumeb in Mindat. Acquired from Lidstrom's, this was #10,450 in Kay's collection. Her annotation on her label was that this was a 'superb' specimen. Valued $1500-2500
