Item Description

The Majuba Hill Mine is justly famous for secondary copper minerals such as Clinoclase, an uncommon copper arsenate. The highly lustrous, deep-blue Clinoclase crystals are associated with crusts of teal-blue Chalcophyllite. Set on a gossan matrix, this makes for a colorful and attractive combination. The sparkling crystal aggregates of Clinoclase average perhaps 3-4 mm, and represent a distinctly different habit from the bladed micro-crystals at Majuba. This "Dana Locality" is now closed, and #5582 in Kay's collection is definitely a fine reference specimen.
