SPECIAL DENVER SHOW MINERAL AUCTION - THE COLLECTION of FRANCESCO BEDOGNE - ends TUESDAY September 25, 2018

Ends TUESDAY September 25th, 2018
at 6:30 PM (Central Time Zone)

Continuing with our special themed auctions through the summer we are thrilled for our next installment of the worldwide collection of Francesco Bedogné of Sondrio, Italy (1942-2012).

Dr. Bedogné was a beloved, well-known mineral collector, field collector and author. He specialized in collecting and writing about minerals of the Italian Alps, contributing dozens of articles and many books including the minerals of famous Alpine deposits such as Val Chiavenna, Val Bregaglia, Val Masino, Val Codera and of course the famous Val Malenco for which he was best known (see the Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 3, No. 3 : May / June 1972; pg. 120-123). Bedogné was the founder of the Valtellinese Mineralogical Institute as well. A book featuring some of his finest specimens entitled "Segrete Geometrie" was published in 2015, and is available for purchase from us here at The Arkenstone.

Bedogné's worldwide collection features many attractive historic, classic and contemporary specimens, and we've taken this opportunity showcase some great pieces from this collection. Look for more of Francesco's specimens later on this year.
