Wire Silver on Acanthite (crystallized!)

Starting more than 10 years ago, The Hongda Mine was providing collectors with some superb association specimens of Silver with Acanthite. We still see specimens coming out, but it does appear that they are tapering off in recent years. This attractive miniature specimen is an eye-catching display piece featuring beautiful, striated, curled wires of native Silver which are sitting on / growing from crystallized(!) Acanthite matrix. The Silvers measure up to about 8 mm long, but the Acanthites are the best aspect of the piece since there are a few sharp, very well-formed, euhedral crystals measuring up to 1.3 cm on edge. Sculptural, aesthetic and fun to view close up. Priced in the inventory at $800.
