Item Description

The minerals of the Deccan Trappe may be plentiful and common on the market, but the majority of them are literally the finest crystallized examples of their respective species extant. When it comes to Indian minerals species like Stilbite, Apophyllite and Heulandite are unmatched in terms of quality. Keep in mind that species like Stilbite, Apophyllite and Heulandite are often colorless or white from most world localities, and species from Maharashtra can be incredibly colorful. This attractive miniature is a lovely overall specimen featuring a beautiful purple colored "bow tie"-shaped group of Heulandite sitting on a small Chalcedony pedestal. The Heulandite is doubly-terminated and razor-sharp with a fine vitreous luster. A few tiny Stilbite blades adorn the top of the Heulandite group for a nice touch. This RARE purple color combined with the superior quality and beautiful aesthetics make this more than just another Indian Zeolite, it's a very fine quality specimen. Ex Robert Nowakowski Collection (#276). Valued at $750 in the inventory.
