Item Description

A fantastic, very good sized Dolomite twin from the famous Azcárate Quarry in Spain. These are some of the most iconic Dolomite crystals in the world with their signature silvery color, razor-sharp rhombic form and gorgeous penetration twins. This small cabinet specimen features a large beautiful predominant rhomb with smooth, slighly striated, lustrous faces which is twinned on opposing corners by two smaller Dolomites of equal quality. The crystals are gemmy, yet show some attractive internal phantoms from pocket clay inclusions. The front edge of the piece is not completely crystallized, but it's not what I call damage either. It's actually crystallized all the way around, really doesn't show any major damage. An excellent piece of this classic material. From the collection of Ed Ruggiero Collection and obtained in 1976 at the Tucson Show from Pala Properties according to his 3x5 index card label. Valued at $1500 in the inventory.
