Item Description

This piece was discovered in late 2014, and is a wonderful and classic example of "silvery" colored crystals that have been on the market recently. This piece shows truly beautiful form for the species and the locality. A large, sharp, lustrous, translucent single crystal with the iconic thick prism and "chisel"-shaped termination has beautiful "teeth"-like stepped faces along one edge. A few partial secondary crystals are attached near the base. The color is singular, and truly does not resemble any Barites we've seen from any other locality. The specimen is in remarkably fine condition with only one real contact on the edge (where the prism meets the termination), otherwise it's essentially damage free. This piece came to us with a price tag of $1,750, and it's a very worthwhile big cabinet display piece for what it is. The specimen comes with a FREE custom lucite base for display. PLEASE NOTE: This piece weighs 1,223 grams, so it's over 2.5 pounds and will require an additional shipping charge. Please keep this in mind when bidding or feel free to contact us ahead of time.
