The zeolites from the basalt flows in India form their own amazing corner of the mineral kingdom, and among those are the great blue Cavansites that began coming out in the 90's. This attractive 2.9 cm cluster of blue Cavansite is lustrous, with typical radial growth forming the spherical clusters. The Cavansite sits on a uniform layer of small, floral clusters of sharp, bladed, mm-size Stilbite crystals that themselves are quite attractive. The contrast, as well as the balance, creates an excellent aesthetic. This fine and showy piece is from the Wagholi Quarry of India. Old specimen, from the early 2000s
