Item Description

Despite the fact that there are only a handful of minerals found at the mines around Carthage, some of them are among the most recognizable minerals in the world. The specimens are a favorite among collectors, and it's easy to see why. This piece features a group of gemmy, purple / golden colored Fluorite cubes, with the largest crystal measuring up to 4.0 cm on edge free of matrix. The Fluorite crystals show the famous "gem corners" with WATER CLEAR transparency, and that mix of golden and soft lilac colors inside. Additionally, one can see defined "phantom" lines in the corners as well. Great quality for the material, and aesthetic to boot. This piece is around 30-40 years old, and is a fine display piece from this prominent and celebrated zinc ore body! The piece comes with a FREE custom lucite base. Valued at $1,750 in the inventory.
