Item Description

When it comes to Aquamarine, the finest specimens in the world are found in Pakistan. This particular specimen is about as aesthetic as gets for a matrix association specimen of Aquamarine from any locality. A wonderful, thin, tapered, gemmy, soft blue colored "pencil" of Aquamarine measuring 7.7 cm long is dramatically flaring at a nearly 45 degree angle out of a solitary, GEM quality, sharp, lustrous, richly colored Smoky Quartz crystal with beautiful accenting silvery colored Muscovite crystals on each side. The composition and balance make it a truly eye-catching specimen and incredibly desirable in my mind. You just don't see pieces like this very often, and this particular arrangement makes for such a photogenic specimen. There is no real damage to speak of on the display side, though there is a slight contact on the back of the Smoky Quartz. The Aqua crystal has notable striations along the length of the prism, and while it's not actually damaged, there is a spot of interrupted growth near the termination where it obviously grew against the pocket wall. A gorgeous display specimen and a real showstopper in terms of sheer visceral appearance. Valued in the inventory at $3,500.
