Item Description

A fantastic cabinet sized plate of high quality, VERY gemmy, beautiful green colored cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 2.7 cm on edge. Some of the crystals have small step-like modifications on the corners amd ege, giving them character and texture to really make the piece stand out. Overall the piece is in amazingly good condition with only a few trivial nicks, but truly excellent quality all around. A fine example of these attractive and now fairly hard to find classics from the Chashan Mine. BETTER IN PERSON, as it was nearly impossible to convey the quality through the photos. We had this piece priced at $2,000 in the inventory. Ex Dr. Steven Smale Collection. Along with amassing one of the finest private mineral collections in the world, Steve is a renowned mathematician. His accomplishments include being awarded the Fields Medal in 1966 along with being the awarded the Wolf Prize in mathematics in 2007.
