Item Description

Deer Hill is probably the most famous locality in Maine for Amethyst specimens, but one rarely sees specimens like this on the market. This is a very aesthetic and three-dimensional display specimen featuring a pronounced, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, fine purple colored Amethyst scepter sitting on milky white Quartz crystals. The piece is complete all the way around, and there is really no serious damage, save the base of the piece where it was removed from the pocket. The Amethyst portion of the piece has more luster than the underlying white / milky Quartz to really allow the Amethyst to stand out. If you collect Quartz, minerals of New England or specifically Maine, don't miss out on this showy and fine quality specimen of this hard to find material. From the worldwide mineral collection of Michael Garced. Valued at $1,750.
