Item Description

A classic specimen of the famous pink Fluorapatites from Nagar in the form of a sharp, lustrous, gemmy, richly colored hexagonal crystal group with minor attached Muscovite. The piece is in good condition overall, as it's actually partially crystallized on the back, and doesn't have any actual damage per se, but rather interrupted growth in certain areas where it grew against the pocket wall or additional Muscovite crystals (not present). The piece is actually doubly-terminated, as I can see a small basal pinacoid on the lower half of the specimen, but it's not fully formed. There are a few minor nicks, but it's still a very attractive display specimen of these now hard to find Apatites. The color, luster and gemminess really make the piece. This is an older specimen, as it comes with one of our old labels when The Arkenstone was in La Jolla. The original price tag was $3,000 on the piece as it came out at a time when these were new and made a huge splash on the market. From the worldwide mineral collection of Michael Garced.
