Item Description

A very attractive specimen of sharp, well-formed, HIGHLY lustrous, rich green colored, translucent, prismatic Epidote crystals in "fan"-shaped aggregates measuring up to 7 mm on Quartz matrix from this metamorphic deposit in Morocco. This piece is a from a find about 15 years ago, and is good quality for the find. It seems as though these specimens have really disappeared from the market, and it's really a shame because they are some of the more attractive Epidotes from any locality we've seen in several years. Don't miss out on this lovely little Epidote specimen from this lesser-known locality. From the collection of the long time, beloved, well-known French field collector, Paul Zerfass (Collection #507). Zerfass built this worldwide collection over nearly 50 years, many of which were personally collected. A biography featuring specimens from his collection (along with his face on the cover) is in the May - June 2017 issue of French mineral magazine, Le Regne Mineral. We have a .pdf copy of the article for anybody interested in reading it (though it's mostly in French). Just drop us a line and know that you'd like to have a copy.
