Item Description

This is a very attractive association specimen from one of the most famous classic Peruvian localities. A layered group of very sharp, rather lustrous, prismatic, parallel growth crystals of Hubnerite beautifully sitting atop colorless to white / TRANSPARENT to gemmy Quartz crystals. A few of the crystals are contacted / nicked, but good shape overall. Some of the finest quality crystallized Hubnerite in the world comes from this mine, and an attractive display specimen like this is not common to find. The best part of this particular piece is the fact that the Hubnerites show the classic fiery blood red color when backlit! Valued at $1250. From the collection of Senator / Dr. Miguel Romero of Teuhuacan, Mexico (Collection #1958). The piece is accompanied by a lucite base from Miguel's personal collection.
