It is easy to get jaded about Prehnite with so much available from various prolific localities, but this is a really fine quality piece, in that it is from the Merelani HIlls in Tanzania, known for its Tsavorites and Tanzanites, but NOT for Prehnites. This is a fantastic crystallized group of rather GEMMY yellow-green Prehnite, with well-formed, defined crystals arranged intow a gorgeous "spray" sitting on graphite matrix. Gem quality yellow Prehnite is rare around the world, and these Tanzanian pieces should be appreciated for their visceral beauty and obscurity on the market. The largest Prehnite measures 1.3 cm. Great aesthetics and form! The main crystal has a tiny contact, but you really can't see it in the photos. A very displayable and fine quality example of this uncommon material from Tanzania.
