Item Description

Spessartine Garnet is one of the most popular species of Garnet for both gem and mineral collectors. This rough and cut set comprises a lovely thumbnail specimen of Spessartine with a sharp, lustrous, striated, modified dodecahedral crystal with a rich orange-red color sitting on golden Muscovite matrix. This specimen is from a locality called Sabsir in Gilgit-Baltistan (Northern Areas), Pakistan The gemstone is a gorgeous amber-orange hue (similar to Medeira Citrine) with a lovely "Brilliant Cushion" cut and virtually flawless clarity. The stone is from Madagascar. A great rough and cut set of this beloved Garnet species. Valued at $950 retail in the inventory.
