Item Description

A wonderful vivid blue green Cuprian Adamite specimen from the historic Ojuela mine in Mexico. The color is almost as rich as Adamite gets from any locality, and the sparkling luster makes this piece very desirable. The piece is in good condition overall. The color is what matters here. This mine is well known for its amazingly intense colors of Adamite, and this small cabinet is certainly a great example of said material. A 1.5 cm crystal sits at the top of the contrasting reddish-brown gossan matrix with an additional Adamite below. No damage that I can see. Showy and eye-catching, and very worthwhile for a secondary mineral collector, or a collector of Mexican minerals. Valued at $1800 for crystal size, aesthetics, quality and the provenance. The piece is glued to the lucite base, so we didn't try to remove it. Classic material from Ojuela, great color and very desirable on the market. From the collection of Senator / Dr. Miguel Romero of Teohuacan, Mexico (Collection #8000).
