Item Description

This mine is very well known for it's Adamite specimens, but it is the highly sought after Manganoan variety of Adamite found here that makes it such a significant locality. This piece features several, sharp, lustrous, translucent white crystals of Adamite with strong purple tips sitting on Limonite matrix. I've photographed some of the crystals under the microscope to help show the great quality, luster and gemminess. To my understanding, there was only one significant find of this material at Ojuela, and they are by far the most prized of all Adamite varieties found here. The piece is from the Brian Kosnar collection, and his collection number (BK7) is glued to the base of the specimen. According to Brian, this was one of the first specimens he ever acquired for his collection.
