Item Description

This complex alumosilicate is one of the more obscure members of the Cancrinite group, especially in fine quality specimens. Typcially Afghanite crystals, no matter how saturated the color may be, are opaque. This specimen hosts a crystal of Afghanite measuring 1.4 cm with a lovely deep Sapphire blue color sitting on massive Calcite matrix. A good display specimen of a species that is only found in good sized specimens from one part of the world. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock, valued at $1,000
