Item Description

A fabulous, sculptural, very showy pair from a sliced and polished hollow, very elongate colony of coral - you can see the pattern on the outside - that has been replaced or filled inside with botryoidal and banded chalcedony. The super-sparkly, translucent botryoids and banding have a pleasing variety of honey-brown and creamy colors! This is one of those unusual cases where biology meets mineralogy. This dramatic specimen is a fine matched pair. This is a closed-end pair and looks just like a large animal legbone.
