Item Description

This specimen was collected by Richard Kosnar in 1964 when he had just graduated from high school. He had almost exclusive access to the quarry at the time, and was able to collect some unique and interesting specimens (including some of the most well known Greenockites from the Western Hemisphere) over several years time. This piece featuring crystallized "ball"-shaped aggregates of bladed Albite with the most unusual pinkish-orange color. It's similar to some of the irons-stained Barite with Cerussite from Mibladen, Morocco. This specimen is nearly 50 years old, and it's a cool piece of history and NJ mineral collecting. From Rich Kosnar's collection, with the number #132 glued to the base.
