Item Description

Unusually blocky, elongated, lustrous, porecelaneous albite variety pericline crystals with striking chisel terminations and pinkish-white color are sculpturally set on the mounded matrix on this very fine and uncommon combination from the famous Rauris valley. The impressive large dominating crystal is 2.8 cm. The rich field of bone-white calcite rhombs and scattered glassy quartz points are fine and typical accessories to this combination Austrian classic. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 3296 and acquired from the Shale's in the early 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Rare style pericline from the Rauris valley.
