Item Description
This is a HUGE garnet crystal weighing in at 6.6 pounds, surely one of the largest Almandines! It was part of a graduated set of 18 crystals that Rock had, small to large (this was near largest but not the largest). Many contain gem quality regions. Given to Rock Currier in 2014 by Osorio Neto, a longtime business friend in Brazil. Rock related in his catalog that he was told the guy mined a tonnage of these over time, but it all goes to China for carving which is why we never saw much of it! Spectacular large museum or display specimen!
