Item Description
Almandine garnet crystals of this size and quality are very uncommon from the famous pegmatites of Grafton. This large, sharp trapezohedron is strikingly striated and is reddish-brown. The numerous areas of beautiful, reddish-orange, gemmy fire and the 1.4 cm pearlescent muscovite "sail" make this an outstanding crystal. Complete all-around and pristine. Contacting is noted, but there is no damage, per se. Old-time material. Ex Mullane Garnet Collection and comes with a faded Burminco label from the 1950s or 60s. 131 grams.
