Alpersite is a RARE post-mining hydrated Mg-Cu sulfate approved in 2003 and is a member of the Melanterite Group. This very lightweight, pretty baby-blue specimen is looks like a blue sponge and is from the Type Locality in Nevada. Mass is only 35 grams.
