Item Description

Altaite is uncommon lead tellurium and is typically found in hydrothermal vein gold--tellurium-bearing deposits. Iridescent metallic-silver altaite microcrystals in large podlets, stringers and as isolated crystals are richly scattered on both sides and an edge of the matrix wedge on this rich and rare piece. This fine piece is from the obscure Hilltop Mine, near the famous Stephenson-Bennett Mine. Seldom on the market. Very rich ore.
