Item Description

A DRAMATIC and CLASSIC smoky quartz and amazonite specimen from the Florissant area of Colorado. This SUPER SHOWY, UNREPAIRED piece is dominated by a superbly placed, 5.0 cm, translucent, smoky quartz crystal, that has a low-luster finish. The two, smaller smokies and the turquoise-blue amazonite crystals wonderfully complete this very fine piece. The large smoky is complete all-around and is very nearly pristine, having only very trivial edgewear. The very trivial edgewear on the smaller smokies has no impact on the aesthetics of this excellent piece from the Pete Bancroft Collection. One of the finest, old-time Colorado smoky quartz and amazonites, that we have offered at auction and just a superb example for the size. The base has been sawed to enhance the display and the piece sits up beautifully without any aide. Valued $1000-1500
