Amazonite (porcelainous) with Cleavelandite ex Halpern Collection

There is much to admire in this small cabinet cluster from the Pikes Peak batholith, the world's prime producer of superb Amazonite crystals and clusters. The crystals are well-formed and sharp, with the largest being 4.2 cm tall. The color is an exceptionally attractive blue that is enhanced by the very good luster, itself exceptional so that we refer to this top top quality material as porcelain style. It is simply different than most others. It is ALSO most unusual to have good, crystallized blades of Cleavelandite perched upon the crystals (and they are really pretty in person, but it could use some cleanign and improve!). Lastly, his label notes that the black specks on the back are columbite though we cannot confirm that, and Columbite makes the combination even more rare and exceptional. Top Amazonites are always wonderful additions to any good collection, and this aesthetic piece is a prize because it is DIFFERENT than all the rest.
