Item Description

When it comes to lapidary grade Amazonite, the best known sources for the material are Colorado, Russia and Brazil predominantly. Going back to the mid 2000s, there was a find of some exciting new Amazonite in Peru. This material yielded crude crystals for the most part, but the color was very good and many of them were translucent which is rather rare in Amazonite. This particular stone is a beautiful blue-green color, translucent "Round Cabochon" cut gem with excellent consistency. This stone would make a great addition to a Feldspar suite, or even an Amazonite gem collection.
