Item Description

A VERY rarely seen specimen of soft blue-green colored Amazonite Microcline with minor Smoky Quartz from Strzegom (Striegau) in Poland. I've seen beige / white Microcline with Smoky Quartz crystals from this area before, but NEVER Amazonite! The crystals are very well-formed, sharp and lustrous with classic blocky form. The small accenting Smokies make for a great touch. If you collect materail from this historic region, or just worldwide Feldspars, you canot afford to miss out on this rare locality specimen. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11263). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017). Valued at $700.
