Aesthetic and pristine amethyst "corsage" from the famous Reel Mine of North Carolina. Rich purple terminations highlight the glassy, lustrous, gemmy to translucent sharp crystals. The lovely crystals reach about 4.0 cm tall. Some of the finest Eastern USA amethysts have come from the Reel Mine. See the 1990 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 21, No. 3. Ex John Whatley Collection, a well-known Georgia collector (1939-2022). John had many interests and hobbies. His favorite hobby was collecting rocks and minerals and he was a member of the Augusta and Aiken, SC Gem and Mineral Society.
