Amethyst has been found in many world localities, but Brazil certainly has produced the largest amount of gems and specimens for the last several decades. Without a doubt, some of the largest faceted stones of Amethyst have come from Brazil, and this is a rather large gem with beautiful medium purple color face up, and when you flip it over, you can see there is a bit of color zoning, where the purple color is a bit stronger in areas, and nearly colorless in other areas. The color is completely natural, and the stone has not been treated in any way. To me, the most significant aspect of this stone is that it is virtually eye clean in clarity, which is remarkable for the size. It has a standard "Oval" cut.
