Item Description

This showy CABINET, matrix plate of many color-zoned, lustrous and gemmy amethyst crystals is very unusual and uncommon, in that an earlier generation of small smoky (by the standards of this place, anyhow) quartz crystals covers the hummocky surface. The beautifully purple tips above the water-clear, colorless lower sections are dramatic. The largest crystal measures 2.0 cm in length. This specimen is indicative of a rare color combination that seldom comes out of this famous deposit. Essentially pristine (no broken crystals), except for very trivial periphery wear.
