Item Description

Rare! Fine amethyst specimens are very uncommon from the famous mines at Naica. This a striking and beautiful, complete 3-dimensional knob of amethyst points, with a purple blush inside each one, and fine glassy luster. The core of the knob is lustrous sphalerite, indicating that this piece is not from Guanajuato or Guerrero. This type of knob is well-known from Artigas, Uruguay (totally different color), but is rare from Mexico. Essentially pristine. A real stunner for Naica. An older piece out of the Feist collection, then to the Dave Stoudt Collection. If you could not see sphalerite on the back, you would not BELEIVE this was Mexican! Valued at $800-900.
