Item Description

The specimens from Bombori are not what you'd expect when it comes to Bolivian material. These pieces feature mostly Amethyst crystals with varying habits which include scepters, "reverse" scepters and "Fenster" or "window" habit crystals. This showy and aesthetic miniature features a three-dimensional group of fine quality, very sharp, translucent, lustrous, prismatic, lavender crystals of Amethyst measuring up to 2.8 cm. Each of the crystals show a tiny bit of the previously mentioned "Fenster" (window) habit, with slightly skeletal faces. This particular style is the rarest habit for the locality. The piece is in great condition, though you can see a tiny bit of "chipping" on the terminations of two of the crystals. It should be noted that good crystallized Amethyst isn't very common from Bolivia, and outside of the specimens from Anahi, these are the most well-known Amethysts to come out of Bolivia in a long time. A fine piece and very attractive compared to many from Bombori. Priced at $350 in the inventory.
