Amethyst with Hematite

A superb AMETHYST (note, not the normal clear Quartz) with Hematite from the well-known Orange River area! The largest crystal is 3.0 cm tall, and the luster ranges from glassy to matte (where the surface is coated by hematite). The aesthetics are excellent, and the presentation side is in great condition. Periphery wear is noted on the sides and out-of-sight back, but have no impact on the striking display quality of this piece. This would compare favorably with any of the Orange River quartz/hematite specimens, but the fact that it is amethyst raises it a whole level in rarity compared to the more common quartz/hematite from here.
