Amethyst xls on matrix

Item Description

A beautiful intergrown pair of swallowtail-shaped amethyst crystals aesthetically set on basalt matrix covered with very fine, clear to oxide-tinted quartz crystals. The crystals are 4.0 and 3.6 cm long and both are doubly terminated beside their attachment points. The terminations are gemmy, with rich grape-purple color. Gentile bruising is noted on both teminations. Quite simple, and quite exquisite for the size. The former dealer label has a $750 price from five or more years ago.
