Item Description

I think it's safe to say that the best known examples of Anapaite are from the Kerch Peninsula in Crimea, Ukraine. These specimens along with those from the Zheleznyi Rog locality in Russia are certainly the finest examples of this beautiful calcium iron phosphate in the world. Although this mineral species has been known for over a century, it's significant that both the Russian and Ukranian specimens are still the top examples of the species ever found Here we have a wonderful miniature that hosts a few fantastic well-crystallized layered groups of gorgeous green colored Anapaite measuring up to 1.0 cm across associated with a few golden radial groups of Barite sitting on oxidized matrix. The Anapaite groups are pretty gemmy when backlit, and look beautiful up close. Most of them are undamaged, though there are a few contacts. The piece comes with a classic old label from the Rocksmiths.
