Item Description

An unusually tabular / compressed crystal of golden honey colored Anatase with very sharp, lustrous faces and excellent crystallization. The only given locality is Minas Gerais, so I don't know specifically where it was found, but I honestly thought it was a classic specimen from the European Alps when I first saw it as it shows a habit and crystallization that is not often seen from Brazil. A great thumbnail example of this well known titanium oxide. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9791). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
