Anatase on Smoky Quartz (Hansen, Smithsonian and Oslo Univ. Coll.)

Item Description

A very nifty 4-piece set of water-clear, smoky quartz crystals studded with lustrous anatase crystals to 5 mm from Hardangervidda, Norway. The anatase crystals are embedded both on and within the uncommon for the locality, variably-hued smokies. This is an excellent anatase and smoky quartz collection. It is from the lot we obtained from Dr. Gary Hansen. Dr. Hansen obtained these in a small lot trade with the Smithsonian, who in turn traded with the Geology Museum at the University of Oslo. They are all nearly pristine, with only trivial contacting or side wear. Choice material from the 1970s to early 1980s.
