Item Description
A sparkling and glittering specimen of the famous garnets from this classic old Mexican location. However, most are only moderately glassy whereas this is like a mirror - the most lustrous we have seen. Dick Heck owned this in the 1980s, and his collection was considered, piece for piece, one of the highest quality groups of Mexican minerals put together for perfection and aesthetics in the size ranges, during the time these were coming out. This specimen has crystals to just over 1 cm in a stack, like a stalactite, on matrix. It is exquisite quality for this rare garnet material. The Heck collection had disappeared from the market for nearly 20 years!
