Item Description

A very showy, two-sided combination specimen from a New Find in remote Inner Mongolia. Sharp, lustrous and translucent, olive-green andradite garnet crystals to 1.0 cm richly line the vuggy front of the piece. A few hedenbergite blades are visible and are partially covered with garnets. Strikingly lustrous and chatoyant, parallel-growth, grayish-green hedenbergite prisms form a partial cliff face on the back of the piece and more andradites are evident here. The hedenbergites look just like basalt columns! Sprinkled on one side are a few quartz points. The form, appearance and luster of the piece is visually impressive. Choice combination material from this New Find.
