Item Description

A large, sharp, moderately lustrous, mottled olive-green, andradite garnet dodecahedron. Mineral specimens of any type are relatively uncommon from this well-known mining district, first exploited by the Spaniards and with sporadic mining through 1966. Complete all-around, with a bit of contacting. The base has been sawed to enhance the display. Single crystals from this locale are very rare. Ex Schlichter Collection.
