A very attractive full-sized thumbnail specimen featuring notably sharp, lustrous and well-formed crystals of Andradite (Melanite) Garnet crystal from the Ojos Españoles (Spanish Eyes) Mine in Mexico. The main crystal measures 1.8 cm across, and is a solid, glistening, jet-black hue, as is the case with the smaller Melanites underneath. The habit is a textbook dodecahedron, and it's complete all around. This is a fine quality and rarely seen example of the material from this particular Great for any thumbnail collector or Garnet collector. Better in person, good quality to be sure. From the collection of Shields Flynn.
