Item Description

From this newly exploited skarn zone in inner Mongolia, here we have a freshly mined Andradite Garnet specimen featuring fairly large, sharp, lustrous, olive-green color "stepped" dodecahedra. The largest Andradite crystal measures 3.0 cm across, which is very good size for the locality. This area is already known for producing some incredible Ilvaite crystals, and if the Andradites and a few other species improve a little, we will see some very interesting and eye-catching associations. If you're a Garnet collector, be sure to pick one of these up for your collection, as it just came out of the ground a few months ago!
