Item Description

This piece features a 7 mm cube of Galena which has been partially pseudomorphed by superb quality, beautiful, lustrous, electric royal-blue crystals of Linarite along with colorless sparkling Anglesite crystals associated with mint green Brochantite sitting atop white Quartz forming a striking and colorful specimen from this well-known locality. Great aesthetics and quality, and the multiple species on a single piece is always an added bonus. Linarite is a well known lead copper sulfate species, one of the most classic localities for the species in the United States is the Bingham area of New Mexico. I love the aesthetics of this one, as the Galena crystal is so wonderfully isolated and sits beautifully atop the specimen. Valued previously at $900 by Larry Conklin, whose label accompanies the piece, along with a label from noted rarities dealer, Josef Vajdak (Pequa Minerals).
From the collection of George Elling, a prominent East Coast collector.
