Item Description

Anglesite is a well-known secondary lead sulfate minerals, and although it has been found at hundreds if not thousands of world localities, the species is arguably at its best from Touissit, Morocco. The iconic crystals, which are notably large and fine quality, both in terms of gemminess and color can be found in collections around the world. This piece features several fine, sharp, lustrous, gemmy soft yellow color crystals measuring up to 1.3 cm, sitting atop typical dense Galena, which makes perfect sense since Anglesite forms as a direct alteration of Galena. The piece is in very good shape, and I can't find any major damage of note with the naked eye. Very good quality all around and so showy. If you collect secondary ore minerals, or specimens from Morocco / Touissit, this is the classic style for Anglesite that would make a great addition to any collection.
From the collection of Gerry Morvell.
